As Energy prices continue to increase Surrey's first `Open Energy' event for businesses will be held over the 17th-19th May. The event will demonstrate how they can save energy and money by simply introducing renewable energy measures into their business.
A half-day conference will open the event on May 17th with guest speakers from the Carbon Trust and the University of Surrey. This will be followed by site visits of local businesses and organisations, on May 18th and 19th, who will show others what they have done to improve their energy efficiency. Action Surrey is supporting the event along with other local businesses including The Lightbox, Woking, Ashley C of E Primary School, Walton and Surrey Police.
Dr Lynne Hack, Surrey County Council's Cabinet Member for the Environment explains: "Open Energy Surrey will be a chance for businesses to find out about the Government incentives for renewable energy and learn how they can cut costs, generate income and green their business."
Booking is essential for both the conference and the site tours. To book a free place or for more details, visit www.surreycc.gov.uk/openenergy.
The event has been organised by Surrey County Council and is supported by local organisations and businesses.
