At the South East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards, held at the Hilton Hotel at Gatwick Airport this past Tuesday 27th February, Steve Holbrook from the Environmental Projects team picked up one of the awards for the Vulnerable Customer Support Campaigner of the Year category.
This category rewarded projects and organisations who have been successfully engaging with Fuel Poverty and Vulnerable Customer Support over the past year.
The Action Surrey project has, over this time, run a number of projects together with local authorities focussing on fuel poverty. We have delivered detailed energy efficiency advice and helped to provide funding for much needed improvements for vulnerable residents by way of national and locally based grant funding. This has led to 110 home improvements in houses where 81 of these households were identified as vulnerable residents
The Action Surrey project is an energy advice service set up in 2013 as a partnership between Surrey's Local Authorities. The project looks to drive energy efficiency projects in the county and maintains a network of contractors able to install a range of energy efficiency improvements.
