Insulation
Loft insulation
Install loft insulation and save up money on your energy bills
Up to a 1/4 of all heat loss from a UK home can be through the roof of an uninsulated home. Having the correct depth of loft insulation installed is a simple, cost effective and easy way to keep your home warm. Insulation on the loft floor helps to trap heat which rises through the house towards to roof and prevents heating an uninhabited space. It also helps keep a home cooler in summer.
Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years and is the most cost-effective measure to install.
New installation regulations may require additional ventilation to be fitted as part of a loft install.

Is my home suitable?
Your home is suitable if:
- Your loft insulation is below the recommended 270mm in depth
- Your loft has no damp and condensation problems.
- You are able to have all boarding in the loft removed to install the insulation
- You are able to have anything stored in the loft space removed.
- Your loft is at least 1.2 metres high (lower than this could be difficult to insulate),
Note: If you are privately renting you will need your landlord’s permission
